Floyd Mayweather Jr. was supposed to report to the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas on Friday to begin serving an 87-day jail sentence for a domestic violence guilty plea related to a September 2010 incident with his ex-girlfriend, who is also the mother of three of his children.
However, Mayweather's attorney, Richard Wright, argued that because Mayweather had already committed to a May 5 fight at the MGM Grand -- and, as Wright emphasized, because that event has been projected to generate more than $100 million for the local economy -- Mayweather should be allowed to put off his incarceration until June 1.
That was the date Wright suggested in order to give Mayweather time to recover from whatever bumps and bruises he might suffer in the fight.

Is Bob Arum bankrolling boxingscene.com because they print every outrageous word that comes out of Arum mouth and it's downright pathetic.
Sure Arum we believe you just as we believed you when you said Mayweather was fighting Guerrero.

1. Everyone in boxing knows you call Ellerbe or Al Haymon if they want to discuss anything pertaining to Mayweather. FULL STOP period. It's not even a discussion. Arum and DeBouf know exactly who they should be talking to.
2. DeBouf and Mayweather are close personal friends. They get along like a house on fire.
More BS excuses from MP and his cronies to avoid Floyd. Nothing new. These excuses are just as lame, poor and laughable as the other 25 that were offered up in early 2010 and since then.
Eat ****!!!!

Guaranteed Purse? Are you kidding me? This is the biggest farce ever.
Since when do fighters have to find investors to finance their own fights, particularly when this is will be the highest grossing fight in boxing history.
Isn't that job of the promoter to secure financing? Isn't he supposed to put up the money to stage the fight and pay the fighters from the proceeds? The answer is a resounding yes, and that's why Arum and Pack look so bad.
In essence, Arum wants Floyd to guarantee his own cut from the fight, which simply means he wants Floyd, through the investors, to put up about $30 in guaranteed money.
Arum can run up all kinds of "promotional costs" against that money. He can hire all his family, friends and cronies in various capacities, all financed by Floyd's guarantee to himself.
Then, when it comes times to get paid, Floyd's 50% of the revenues is considerably smaller because the 50% is minus the promotional costs. And the promotional costs will be high once Arum is in control of Floyd's guarantee to himself. What a joke.
If you don't believe me, check out the local promoter in you area (in music, sports and entertainment). The promoter either pays the acts a certain amount or promises the act a percentage of the gate.
Arums is trying to have it both ways.

It's all bull****, no one needs to finance a thing, cept the usual prmotional expenses, which would be split by TR and GBP (acting on a fee from Mayweather Promotions, which is essentially a shell company atm) I doubt Mayweather even wants a gurantee from anyone. He knows he will sell the **** out of this fight, and he also knows Manny brings 1 mil+ to the table aswell. He's going to make 50-70 million regardless. It's simple, the split was already agreed to. 50/50 down the middle, gate and PPV and whatever else they are entitled to get a % of they can.
It's just excuses from Arum. Lame ones at that. Him and Manny especially can go suk a d*ck. It's really Manny who is ducking because he could tell Bob to make it and he would be compelled to.
