I'd like to say that two fighters don't define an entire sport, but this sport is currently filled/infested with these type of people.Even fighters who don't carry anywhere near the same level of mainstream appeal or in-ring accomplishments of Pacquiao and Mayweather are so delusional about their own status that they think they're worth more than what they actually are
1. Boxing needs one world sanctioning body and one world title per division.
2. Super six style competition initiated immediately in each weight division to decide said champ for each one.
3. Manditory defences need to be manditory and against the ring magazine number 2 ranked guy in the division.
4. All financial and monetary arrangements for title defences need to be written in stone by said sanctioning body and be the exact same for every title fight with zero room for negotiation. Say 70-30 in favour of champ.
5. Only exception to this financial split and manditory defences is when one champ is moving up a weight class to fight another champ. In such cases financial spilt is 50-50 zero negotiation. Guy who refuses 50-50 is clearly the ducker.
6. Final say on location and date of title fight determined by sanctioning body.
7. In event of champ retiring with the belt - immediate super six style comp between top six ranked guys in the division initiated.
8. Zero negotiation or deviation from any of above rules allowable under any circumstances.
"no i want to fight late in May so we can have more seats"
what a joke of a sport this is!
The fans are an even bigger joke.
*******s defending Pac to the death despite the ability to make the fight on May 5th.
*****s defending Floyd to the death despite his very convenient retirement and vacations over recent time which prevented the fight even being considered.
