they can both declare all over media that they want to fight but they still have to negotiate and make an agreement. that's actually the hardest part...negotiation.

This is by far the most sensible and lucid post of the whole raving bunch of lunatics. I suppose they are not aware how badly they show to normal, rational posters. I can understand that it's difficult right now to finalise any date, because, although most people ignore it, MannyP's cut still needs to be evaluated and tested. It would be a disaster if the cut re-opened in the second or third rd. It was very deep, right to the bone, needing 3 layers of stitches of 8, 8, and 12, total 28. As a contrast, Ward's cut needed 7 stitches. And people heal at differing rates. So.......in a huge, money fight like this, they have to be sure.

The Roach has no business in making such announcements, since the decision is entirely between Pacquiao, Arum and Concz. Roche's part is to make sure that his fighter is fully fit and ready by the date decided on and the opponent chosen. Nothing more, although his opinion will surely be asked. It seems as if the Roach likes to see himself in print, and often makes irrelevant and unsubstantiated announcements to the always eager=to-listen press.
