Federal commission rejected!
It's over. At least for this year. The House of Representatives today killed a bill that would have created a U.S. Boxing Commission within the Commerce Department. The vote went 233-190 against legislation that would have established a "boxing czar" appointed by the President to oversee the state commissions. A corresponding bill in the Senate passed earlier this year. The bill was supported by ********s 146-50 and Independents 1-0, but rejected by **********s 183-43. Ten congressmen did not vote.
