Ricky Hatton was bullied quite severely when he was a kid, he never had any friends when he was a young kid and was apparently VERY unhappy for many years and didn't want to live any longer. He started kickboxing at nine years old though to fight back against bullies, it worked. When he started secondary school he made friends, he also started boxing at 11 years old and made even more friends. Then he was at the FA school of excellence at 13 years old for a few years and made yet more friends (including the likes of Michael Owen, Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard, Phil Neville, etc!). By the time he was 14-15 he was one of the most popular lads around and really happy, and has been popular and really happy ever since
