Santos Benavides (23-3, 17KOs) has withdrawn from a scheduled fight on January 20th. He was going to face Emmanuel Tagoe (18-1, 8KOs) for the IBF's Inter-Continental super featherweight title in Accra, Ghana. Benavides fell ill, couldn't train, which forced him to withdraw from the contest. A big blow for Benavides. He was focused on redeeming his career after losing in his last ring appearance - a twelve round decision last November to unbeaten Bryan Vasquez in a bout for the interim-WBA title at 130-pounds.
