Manny needs to sue Arum or himself for defamation of character if he doesn't make this fight happen. It honestly baffles me how some people continue to defend Pac. Ok, sure, Pac has said he wants to fight Floyd, but his promoter says completely otherwise. Anybody remember after the Marquez fight when he was asked by Mario Lopez if he wants to fight Floyd? He said he didn't know...He froze, looked at Arum..and Arum jumped in to answer that. I love Pac as much as the next guy, but that doesn't mean I can't admit this is some serious duckery by his team or him. Again, big Pac fan but I also can't delude myself into thinking Pac stands anything more than a punchers chance against Floyd... We can all hate Arum, but you have to admit that as a promoter, he's a dream come true. He's doing his job, and doing it well (we'll leave out the part about him swindling his fighters...).

Bob Arum is nothing but a scumbag, Pacquiao is an over-rated puppet, and most of Manny's fans are gullible little kids.

I can't believe someone said (basically) the challenge doesn't count cuz Pac doesn't have twitter? Please tell me we don't like the same fighter. :|... I've also seen some people say "Floyd was just waiting for Pac to get old".. REALLY? Floyd doesn't age and isn't already older? Again, you can STILL LIKE Pac (like a lot of us do, we're just not blinded by the hype job Arum has done on him) but still be able to criticize him. He's not your dad, you don't have to defend him to the death. As it stands now, like it or not, Floyd is the one who seems like he's trying to make the fight.

Marvin Hagler would have flown from the phillipines to Floyd's house, and challenged him to a fight right there. He'd fire arum, let arum sue him, whatever..he'd have fought plain and simple. He'd have taken a blood test, stool test, urine test, lie detector test, whatever. They like to call Pac an ambassador of the sport, so why would he not JUMP at the chance to get steps started in clearing it up by using himself as an example? Is he clean? Probably, I don't know, but that was extremely shady. If this fight isn't made, I probably can't be a Pac fan anymore...as a person or boxer.

Good post. I think its pretty obvious that Bob Arum doesn't want the fight and that could be due to a myriad of reasons. Arum has a bad relationship with Goldenboy, Mayweather, and Mayweather's advisors. He also sees Pacquiao is his golden goose and doesn't want to risk Pacquiao losing, especially to the guy that he hates.

Arum has a bad relationship with Goldenboy, Mayweather, and Mayweather's advisors. He also sees Pacquiao is his golden goose and doesn't want to risk Pacquiao losing, especially to the guy that he hates.

I know Pacquiao isn't scared and I know Mayweather isn't scared, I think its been Arum who's been posturing this whole time and now it has become increasingly obvious.

It is due to one reason, Bob Arum has a great relationship with money.

He will work with Golden Boy when he is ready.
