Why do u think Guerrero is the front runner of getting the Floyd fight???

I think Guerrero is willing to accept 2% to 98% split in revenues basically floyd getting all the money while Canelo(I believe is still a **** fight albeit better) will demand a higher split especially since he is quite popular in mexico and would feel like he will be bringing the mexican fans on Cinco de mayo.

I don't understand why they won't pursue Cotto for a fight. Cotto is a free agent now I believe and IMO is the next best fight for Floyd behind Pac. I mean just compare cotto's accomplishments to canelo and guerrero. Not to mention he is the third biggest draw in the US.

IDK maybe from humanitarian reason cuz Guerrero is sorta a good guy so it would help with Floyd's jail story?

I think Floyd is smart enough to know a Floyd vs Canelo/Cotto fight would do much bigger PPV numbers than a Floyd vs Guerrero fight. So sure, while Guerrero would only demand like 2% of the purse, it could be a flop, whereas Canelo or Cotto are pretty much guaranteed to do over a million buys easily.

But those 2 also present a bigger risk for him.... U think Floyd would wanna do his time in jail with his 1st lost ever???? U know how he'll get treated in there if that was to happen?? Floyd would probably commit suicide (knock on wood) before his time is served.

As Floyd usually says, Men lie, Women Lie, numbers don't. Based on that logic, he'd be a fool to pick anyone else besides Cotto for the money it'll make.

Alvarez is my next option, but IMO that's a bonehead move on Oscar's part if you're still in the process of putting Canelo under the big lights. That would no doubt be Oscar putting Canelo in a Cannonball shoot from where he stands now to where he'd be as far as the level of event it would be in comparison to what Canelo's experienced.

neither canelo nor cotto are big risks. A big risk would be Sergio Martinez. Remember, floyd isn't some ultimate poosay like some people on this board make him out to be, he did fight Shane Mosley after Mosley was coming off his great win over Margarito and I do believe Mosley was a far bigger risk than a 21 year old Canelo or Cotto, who while is still fighting good is at the tail end of his career.

So yeah, none of the three guys pose a serious threat to floyd and if that's the case it will come down to who would be the biggest PPV attraction and that clearly is not guerrero.
