WBC female flyweight champion Mariana Juarez (32-5-3, 15KOs) has returned to the gym and started training for her first fight of 2012. Juárez was named the "Fighter of the Year" by the World Boxing Council at their recent convention at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Juarez will defend her title for the first time this year on either February 11th or February 18th, in Mexico.

have seen her fight live 3x & exceptional...best @112, above Kentikian, the Armanian fighting out of Germany for WBO, she will never leave Germany to defend or unify, Juarez will...only 1 I see beating Juarez, is if she moves 2 115 to fight A M Torres, who, IMO, #1 P4P female , barring none..

WBC fight of the year in '11 & Juarez is fighing, from what I heard Naoko Fujika, unbeaten WBC 105# champ...good fight but a tremendous jump up in weight and size...
