I say so, I think some can hide it better than most though. I give a lot of credit to the writers that can. But, I also think that damn near every boxing writer is a fan. So like a fan you going to have your own opinion, your own bias. It is what it is.

I don't think Kim is an elite boxing writer. But, I think he is in the middle of the pack but better than the likes of Rafael, Lyle, Ronnie, Marley, Scoop etc etc.

Everyone is biased but when it comes to published work, very few writers are able to think objectively. I can think of a couple though

there are almost no "journalists" left in boxing

most of these young guys dont even go to college or get paid for their involvement with boxing.

max boxing gives their guys a small salary over the course of the year, but with the amount of money it takes to support your activities (hotels and airfare, you obviously get your ringside seat for free) you really arent being compensated

they are unpaid publicists and part timers largely

hell, even the ring is starting to sound like somebody is writing it from his mother's basement when you get to some of their columns

I mean, im talking like all the time he's pissed about top rank. Asking me to provide links is like asking me to show you a time when floyd slipped a punch or rolls his shoulder.
            Okay, so no examples.

Hbo hasn't said anything about Cotto marg, Floyd Ortiz and jmm pacq but guess who they spoke about some bull**** conspiracy about.
unless HBO says it I do not believe any number out there period

Top Rank generally does not release numbers as a whole so while I get what you're saying they do have a history of not releasing their own press releases about how they did

this is true. thats why i listen to these guys for the news they give or the stories they break but i will not go to them thinking im gonna find a pulitzer level opinion piece. they clearly do not write to that standard.

Steve Kim hates Mayweather and loves Margarito.

But he breaks news and his analysis is usually spot on most of the time. He is also right in this instance, Arum is not the only one to blame, that would be silly considering what has transpired the last two years. Both fighters and both sides are to blame.
