    Hatton and Maussa Sound Off

IBF light welterweight champion Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton and WBA titleholder Carlos Maussa took time out of their training schedules to reflect on their upcoming bout. The 39-fight unbeaten Hatton, who impressively ripped the IBF title from world No.1 Kostya Tszyu three months ago with an 11th round retirement win, is keen to cement his standing as the 140lbs division’s leading fighter but is anticipating a severe examination against the 33-year-old Maussa. The Colombian claimed the WBA crown in June with a shock seventh round stoppage of American Vivian Harris and his clash with Hatton promises to be an explosive one. Here is what the pugilist had to say about their fights as well as other topics. [details]

I did not know hatton broke with warren. That sounds great.

    PBF is my favorite boxer...
in the ring, but after this interview and the comments hatton made after beating zoo ("if I am going to be half the champ zoo has been...") I might be rooting for hatton.

What a fight if it happens, possibly the highest profile fight (talentwise) since... since... I don't know... Barrera- Morales?

Hatton is a great prospect still iMO....he is like 5-0 if you count non handpicked tomato cans but is definetely exciting and worthy of trying his luck with the best at this point but I am not overly impressed considering Zoo did not look like himself the whole fight and very suprisingly quit.....Zoo is done and has been since taking 2 years off due to injury the reason I say that is there has been zero talk of a rematch which shows Zoo is not fighting with his heart anymore just for $$ thats why he said he will fight Zab again rather than avengin his loss....He wants a fat payday to retie with nothing more.

Hopefully some of the more biased posters here will pay attention to the fact that Ricky says in this interview that he WILL come to the US to fight Mayweather despite him being the one with the majority of belts.
It's the fight that everyone wants to see and from what Ricky is saying, he definitely wants to make it happen.
I'm sure that will make no difference to some of the people I have seen 'debating' here.
I like Mayweather (especially if this fight happens) but have a problem with some of his rabid supporters here who seem to criticise ANYONE who isn't Floyd, Lacy or Tyson.

Majority of the belts? They have 1 belt each and Floyd is a 3 weight champion.

              hmm

Hatton should be given some credit for Tszyu not looking like himself. I think Tszyu looked ok other than that he screwed himself by not training at the right hours. The hour he fought at in England is an hour he normally woukd have been asleep. Hatton woke up and trained like at 2am and **** to get his body right. That was the key to the fight. Hatton took it more seriously than Zoo did, and he got the win.

Hatton-Mayweather needs to happen. God demands it.

Holy Bible, Book of Revelations 44:13..."And God made a covenant with man, that the day will come when two small men shall embrace in fierce battle that will shake the heavens, deciding the fate of the Eagle and Lion."

Obviously God prophesied this battle, and eagle stands for the U.S. while the lion stands for England.
