Cotto never had greater or close to the amount of status Floyd has. Who is Cotto for Floyd to go to 154? What has Cotto done recently?
Well outside of Pacquiao he brings Mayweather the biggest payday and Cotto is a free agent so he won't have to deal with Arum. Cotto also has Cotto Promotions who is going really well and doing over 10 shows a year in New York and PR so Cotto and Mayweather could join forces and make money that way too as part of the contract. Do some Cotto fighters against Mayweather fighters and make some extra cash.

        Mayweather

They've never fought, would be big at the box office, and both have big fan bases. With Cotto vs Pacquiao, yes Cotto looked much better overall against Margarito, but that alone isn't going to help sell the rematch considering Cotto got his ass kicked. With Cotto vs Mayweather, they can spin it off similar to Mosley vs Mayweather as both at one point were on a collision course to fight.

And let's be honest, even people who are frontin now would watch this fight.

Since Floyd is a 'Business man' I wouldn't doubt he offers Cotto good money to lose the fight. I don't really trust Floyd, money talks and now Cotto is all about his money. And yes I do know Floyd most likely could beat Cotto any day legitly.

I'd like to see him fight Mayweather. It was a fight everyone wanted to see at 147, and Cotto showed in his Margarito fight that he's still got plenty of fight left in him. Not to mention I'm sure Floyd would be willing to throw in some big money, so everyone wins!
