WBC super middleweight champion Andre Ward received his world title belt from WBC President Jose Sulaiman in Mexico City at Thursday. Ward won the Showtime super middleweights tournament by defeating Carl Froch by unanimous decision on December 17 in Atlantic City to unify the WBA/WBC titles. “I would like to be world champion in different divisions and I would face Julio Cesar Chávez,” said Ward. “The WBC title is important and a boxer’s dream to achieve. I admire Mexicans champion like Julio Cesar Chavez and Juan Manuel Marquez. I hope to keep this crown for a long time.”
