What i learned from McCall Lewis 1

For me lewis was a bit chinny it's just that he hardly ever got clocked square on, and also focus was a big thing for him, when he fought respected punchers, Tua, Tyson holy to a degree he was consistently alert and aware of the danger in front of him, when he got ko'd by rock he was pissing about and paid for it, the McCall thing for me is another matter, i think he could of gone on but McCall would have finished him, when lewis has been hurt his recouperation powers are weak, hence been out cold vs rock and very hurt against a non puncher in mccall. Vs Mercer i had Mercer up a point, he was very underated when he was up for it, just a shame he wasn't up for it that many times
. Maybe he could of given Rahman a rubber match but i think he would of won again but it would of been harder for him. When lewis has been over confident or he's believed the press he's struggled to impress eg vs Bruno, briggs, mercer mccall 1, rahman 1, holy 2, but when he's been ****ting it and he's only a slight favourite or the underdog then he's put in classy displays - tua, tyson, holy 1, ruddock.
I actually think bowe would of beat lewis circa 92-95, but bowe must of been still haunted by 88 cos he did drop the belt to avoid lewis after the ruddock eliminator, shame too cos that would of been a great match up.
This is coming from a non lewis fan too, before any one says i'm on the canadians ballsLast edited by theironone; 12-30-2004, 12:32 PM.Comment

Rahman... knocked out. McCall... knocked out. most recently Vitali Klitshcko... so lucky he didn't get knocked out. Plus i heard against micheal moorer i think that early in his career, he fough him and won a UD10, which i heard was controversial (if anyone wants to put that up that wud be nice!). He never gave anyone a rematch, even when they gave him a rematch. Mcall gave him a rematch, Rahman did, Even Holyfield did (Mind you that sum were mandatory mayb). But didnt rahman deserve a rubber match, or mcall.
this is a summary as to why i think Lennox Lewis is not one of the greatest HW of all time. He ducked Ruiz, Byrd (gave up IBF and WBA so he woudn't have to fight them), Bowe, and if he fought a prime Mike Tyson, and not a Tyson who was only a threat from rounds 1-2, he wouldve been in the hospital right now.
omg u must have read my mindComment

Lewis wasn`t a Pro when a Tyson was in his prime, its the same as saying if Muhammad Ali in his prime had fought Larry Holmes then Holmes would be beaten. Different eras, end of the day Tyson`s career since he left prison has lasted longer than his prime so in all fairness he should be ultimately judged on the post prison performances. And Post prison, Tyson isn`t in the class of Holyfield or Lewis. And even in his prime he didn`t beat any fighters approaching their class so in history Tyson is a good heavyweight but nothing special!Comment
