Who is the Worst for the Boxing?

    Take your pick!
I would choose all of them but I belive Cortez takes the cake, he is suppose to be fair in the ring (where it is affecting directly on the health and well being of fighters) and many fighters have suffer for his stupedness...

Don King was worse and possibly more corrupt. Soulaiman is a close second. Joe Cortez is the worst referee in history. Fair but firm my A$$. He should change his motto to unfair and soft.

Everybody hates on Cortez but Cortez did one great thing... Not stopping Pacquiao vs Marquez 1 in the first round after JMM had been down three times. Many other refs would have stopped that fight once they saw Marquez on the canvass that many times with a broken nose but Cortez allowed that fight to continue and we got to see an epic battle. If Cortez had stopped that fight maybe nobody would have ever figured out how to beat Pacquiao.

The guy gets an unfair amount of hate from boxing fans when he really shouldn't.

I would choose none of the above if it were another option in your poll. The sport of boxing has had a seedy side all throughout its history, and is replete with figures of questionable character, but does that hurt the sport or make boxing possible? Sometimes fans, including myself, tend to focus on individuals too intensively instead of the entire boxing ecosystem.

Maybe, just maybe the individuals you listed have had a positive effect as well if we look at the entirety of their impact on the sport. Have they been frustrating sure, conniving at times, why not, but have they ultimately added more than they've taken I have to say yes, yes, yes....

We have to look with better eyes than ones looking for heroes, villains, and someone to blame for how one's perceptions are. And we fans that truly love the sport understand this, so we take the good with the bad and live to watch another day.

Bob Arum is bad for boxing because he doesn't want to make big fights with other promotors.
