Comments Thread For: Povetkin's Manager: Tyson Fury's Team Refused The Fight

On February 25th, Alexander Povetkin (23-0, 16KOs) will make the second defense of his WBA "regular" world heavyweight title in Stuttgart, Germany against Marco Huck (34-1, 25KOs), the WBO's cruiserweight champion. Some questions have been raised on why Povetkin made a decision to face Huck, instead of the undefeated British/Commonwealth champion Tyson Fury (17-0, 12KOs), who challenged Povetkin in several press release documents.

povetkin wouldn't have any trouble with fury but facing huck is nothing more then a sauerland ploy to maximize his financial gain. rahman has been paid handsomely twice to step aside but eventually rahman will get his mandatory shot.

How does a sport like boxing attract such big poofs like Alex Povetkin? Should have taken up water polo or something of that nature. It's people like him that hurt this sport.

Most sensible move by Fury and his ppl would be to put this fight off for as long as possible to keep his earning potential

After being floored in his last fight I doubt Fury would want anyone who is not feather fisted.Fury is all hype little substance and the day he moves up in class he will be knocked out.I do not see Fury beating Chisora in a rematch which I know will never happen.

Povetski might not be a problem, but other world class boxers would be. If Fury gets a world title he'll have to defend it.

It's sensible to learn, for now. Not that I ever believe he'll be ready for world class.
