    Grade Roy Jones' resume

This resume will not be as in depth as the Mayweather and Pacquiao ones, but look back for yourself, and you can remember each fighter going into the fight and such.

    1992: Glenn Thomas (24-0)- W TKO8
1993: Bernard Hopkins (22-1)- W UD12 (Won vacant IBF Middleweight title)
    1994: Thomas Tate (29-2)- W TKO2
1995: James Toney (44-0-2)- W UD12 (Won IBF Super Middlweight title)
1997: Montel Griffin (26-0)- L DQ 9 (Griffin struck after taking a knee in round 9)
1997: Montel Griffin (27-0)- W KO1 (Won WBC Light Heavyweight title)
    1998: Virgil Hill (43-2)- W KO4
1998: Lou Del Valle (27-1)- W UD12 (Won WBA Light Heavyweight title)
    1998: Otis Grant (31-1)- W TKO10
1999: Reggie Johnson (39-5-1)- W UD12 (Won IBF Light Heavyweight title)
    2000: Eric Harding (19-0-1)- W RTD10
    2001: Julio Cesar Gonzalez (27-0)- W UD12
    2002: Glen Kelly (28-0-1)- W KO7
    2002: Clinton Woods (32-1)- W TKO6
2003: John Ruiz (38-4)- W UD12 (Won WBA Heavyweight title)
    2003: Antonio Tarver (21-1)- W MD12
2004: Antonio Tarver (21-2)- L TKO2 (Lost WBC and WBA Light Heavyweight titles)
    2004: Glen Johnson (40-9-2)- L KO9
    2005: Antonio Tarver (23-3)- L UD12
    2008: Felix Trinidad (42-2)- W UD12
    2008: Joe Calzaghe (45-0)- L UD12
    2009: Jeff Lacy (25-2)- W RTD10
    2010: Bernard Hopkins (50-5-1)- L UD12

I must say, I love Roy Jones Jr., one of my favorite fighters of all-time, but his resume was not THAT great. He had great wins over prime versions of Hopkins and Toney, but not much byond that. Granted, his divisions were what they were at the time he was fighting and still good. I don't put too much stock into his fights after the 2nd Tarver fight, as he was way past his prime, pretty much the same with Ali after Frazier III, Norton III, and Shavers. Roy's prime was roughly 1993-2001, and he was past his prime still good from 2002-2004. After 2004, Roy was done.

I'd give Roy's resume a B, mainly due to the facts that he still had wins over Hopkins, Toney, Griffin, Hill, and Tarver, but not any higher because he had so many fights against guys that were just alright/decent fighters.

thulani malinga is one of his better wins and he's not even on the list? right before fighting jones he was robbed against benn and i thought he beat eubank in a close fight. very good win even though boxrec disagrees. he was a top fighter. he also won 2 of those flimsy world title belts and beat a couple good fighters after losing to jones.

Roy has a very very solid resume.

What are we comparing it too?

Do you mean in general or ranking all time?

        Resume: B

But RJJ would be great even if he fought A-level fighters.

Losing shouldn't be credited on one's "resume".

Just like you don't put that you got laid off from KFC on a real resume.

YEs it does, if Ray Leonard didnt win his big fights, all those losses on his resume would reflect him in a negative way as fighter.

Just like De La Hoya lost all of his big fights w the exception on quartey

Someone once made a thread here a couple of years ago showing just how good RJJ's resume was, it was a really great thread they went through nearly every single fight, I wish I could find it, anyone know which one I'm talking about?
