Comments Thread For: Erik Morales Still Poised To Pursue Title at 135-Pounds

WBC junior welterweight champion Erik Morales (52-7, 36KOs) is still considering a drop in weight to pursue a fifth world title at 135-pounds. Morales will defend his title in Texas on March 24th against undefeated Danny Garcia (22-0, 14KOs). Morales, 35-years-old, wants to capture at least one final title before retirement - and a sixth is also possible.

The current champions at 135 are JMM/Demarco/Vasquez. Morales is in no position to spark any of them out cuz none of them are slouches. He'll wind up waiting until one of the titles become vacant and then fight for it lol. Hopefully JMM and Morales can make a 135 fight happen, but I highly doubt that's gonna occur.

After Garcia i'd love to see him fight JMM or Demarco, even though both will probably end his career.

Morales is my hero and im the first to admit that he is past his best but i wouldn't go as far as saying he is shot just yet, he surprised a lot of people in that fight with Maidana, me included, i really feared for him before that fight, he may not be the warrior he once was but he has proved he still has something to give, i say good luck to him, hopefully we will finally get to see him in JMM

I think Maidana being so crude just made him look a little better, he is done and he is going to get badly hurt. I don't think him vs JMM would be competitive at all at this point.
