OMG, Antonio can't possibly be serious? Can he?

World light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver has bulked up to a solid 200 pounds to play the opposite Sylvester Stallone in 'Rocky Six.' "Mason Dixon is a very brash, very skillful heavyweight champion," said Tarver, descibing his character in th film. "Unfortunately, he came along at a time when the heavyweight division is much like it is today, and people are remembering the great days when Rocky Balboa was on top. It must have been a fortune teller who wrote the script because that's what we're gunning for in the near future. Acting in this film gives me an opportunity to really feel what being the heavyweight champion of the world is all about." Once shooting wraps up for Tarver in mid-January, he'll be back in the gym to get ready for his next great adventure in the ring. "I'm looking to go on to bigger and better things, and I'm going to be taking it to the next level," said Tarver. "I think the heavyweight division is in dire need of CPR and I'm gonna be the breath of fresh air."

A "breath of fresh air"? The guy is gonna get the "air" knocked out of him if he bothers with anyone at the heavyweight limit.

So.. he gained 25 pounds for this role, wonder how it could affect him.

    hmm

Journeymen at heavyweight can defeat Tarver.

Maskaev, Castillo, Mesi, Williamson, McCline, Golota...not to mention the top guys who would easily defeat him (aside perhaps from Byrd).

I would LOVE to see Brewster vs Tarver...hehe.

I think it's safe to say Antonio isn't going to be a man and fight anyone else at light-heavy and above.

Jirov vs. Tarver in HW would be interesting but I doubt it will ever happen.

                  hmm

Harding and Johnson are upper echelon at 175 (not that that makes them great or anything). Johnson beat Tarver who is and ha sbeen top 5 at 175 and Harding beat Tarver as well as Griffin, twice I believe. They are all upper echelon at 175. Tarver just doesn't have the style or frame to compete at heavyweight.

                  In the heavyweight division...eh...total ****.
