Comments Thread For: Rigondeaux's Coach Rips Donaire: He's Ducking Guillermo!

The past few days I have focused much of my coverage towards Nonito Donaire and his recently setup camp in Las Vegas. Donaire vies for the vacant WBO junior featherweight championship against former champion Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. on February 4th in Houston, Texas and it could kick-start a potentially huge 2012 for him.

News update for Montancordoba - Donaire hasn't fought at 122lbs yet; his fight w/WVJr. isn't till Feb 2012, and Rigondeaux is fighting in Jan 2012 (hopefully). So how is Donaire ducking The Jackal? Should the Jackal get the WBA belt, then a fight with the Filipino Flash can be made; Donaire already expressed a desire to go belt hunting at 122lbs. Don't understand the ducking Guillermo thing though?

Did you read the article? He did not say Donaire is ducking, he said that his people dont want him near Donaire. The damn headline is wrong.

I love how it's only pointed out that Donaire didn't KO Omar. It's not pointed out that Nonito in the corner said he's bored with a guy that's giving him no opportunities to fight, or hit him, or that Omar showed up for a paycheck and to claim he survived. But, whatever helps another trainer sleep at night I guess. We'll see how Rigo does with Ramos before Donaire's name gets thrown into the mix, as Ramos will be a massive step in competition for Rigo compared to what he's been fighting at the pro level.

Yeah, how do you think i got the name of Montanocordoba; and how Rigo is going for a WBA belt? Yes I understand that the title is wrong, why do you think I said I don't understand the ducking thing. Rigo will have problems with Donaire, the Flash will give the Jackal fits - though Rigo has an extensive amature history there is a big difference fighting only 8 professional fights and 28. Donaire is a thinking boxer with a punch, Rigo hasn't experienced that yet.

what's with these conditioning coaches and the media giving them too much undeserved attention?

so he's quick to point out donaire's shut-out but unimpressive win against narvaez but what about rigo's performance against cordoba which ironically was the first time he stepped up in competition? what have rigo done really to be considered the real threat at 122? that conditioning guy should shut the **** up because he doesn't know what he's talking about.

by the time he pays every 1, 3 strength coaches???come on, he won't make $1.///he'll beat Nono but Rigo's problem is incativity and big gaps between bouts & @ 31 he's on the downside, age wise...he need to get & stay busy as he's really a talent...
