Comments Thread For: Broner: I Try To Incorporate Mayweather's Game into Mine

Adrien Broner appeared on a recent edition of, The Boxing Lab, BoxingScene.com's official audio show. In 2011, the 22-year-old rose from prospect to contender, and then culminated the year by capturing the vacant WBO super featherweight championship by knocking out Vicente Martin Rodriguez in November. The fight took place in Broner's hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. Broner would tell The Boxing Lab that he loved fighting at home and that he hoped to fight in Cincinnati frequently.

whats wrong with being a student of the game and studying a great champion whos been successfull at the top level for over a decade? at age 22 he should be studying more experienced fighters and try to incorporate some of their skills into his own style, its called growing as a fighter.

Nothing wrong with fighters doing this. It aint even new. Would love to see more fighters incorporating top fighters skills into their styles to make some new. It's called taking the old and blending it with what's new, altogether helping towards the evolution of the sport.
