I feel for him because i have a relative that is just like him (present situation wise).

IMO, Gerald doesn't deserve what happened to him because of his known involvement in dog fighting. If he had murdered another human being then id say otherwise.

This is actually true, there was an article about how his prized pit Deuce lost a fight real bad, and he was crying and took that dog home and stayed with it holding it for hours/days until it finally passed, he was devastated.
When the dog was losing, McClellan screamed to stop the fight.

"He gave the man his money, picked Deuce up and threw him over his shoulder," Johnson says. "He was crying all the way home, petting his dog, saying he would never do it again.

"He was driving a green Mercedes Benz. Blood was all over the car. Deuce's neck was tore out, and you know what Gerald did? He sewed his neck up himself with a needle and thread.

Besides he would not be the only boxer to be involved in dog fights/**** fights *cough* RJJ *cough*
add miguel cotto, manny pacquiao to that list as well, amongst many others.

You know who has it worse? Wilfred Benitez. He lives in a shack in PR, no fund raisers for him.

Whatever you think of his acts before his injury took place, the person he is now certainly doesn't deserve to be in the condition he is in. Chances are that he would have gone onto be a better person like a lot of people who have come from difficult surroundings but he never was given the chance.

In fact I heard that he had pretty much given up on the dog-fighting business after one of his favorite dogs was injured, but that's all hear-say and we don't really know anything for sure about what took place. What we do know for sure is that he was injured tragically in the ring, and no practitioner of the sport deserves such a fate even when the risk exists.

McClellan didn't deserve 1/10 of the state he's in now.

            No one does.
