what MTN says is indeed very true. us weaterners are quite the exception in most of the world when it comes to how women are treated. in most countries it is ok, in fact it is deemed a man's responsibility to hit their woman. just the truth. in fact less than 50 yrs ago, it was ok to do so in the us as well. americans are usually blind to what occurs in the rest of the world so i wouldnt expect most to know, but yea. its hard to knock what another culture does unless ur from that culture. thats why most of the world hates americans as it is.
