No Bro. Haye would not be successful in any other era as this is the weakest one. Even weaker than between 78-86 when Holmes reigned supreme.

Haye would be a worthy contender and possible titleholder in ANY previous HW era. His size and weight disadvantage now would be COMPLETELY invalid in the past, in the 70s he would be considered big. Add that to his punching power, speed, athleticism and explosiveness in the ring and you got a valid, dangerous fighter, more frightening in the past than now when compared to 6'6 Wladimir or 6'7 Vitali.

You're a History Forum stooge. You really think Haye couldn't have beaten the taxi drivers and bartenders from the Joe Louis and Rocky Marciano eras?

Haye would have beaten many if not most of the heavyweight "legends" of previous eras, simply because he's a far better athlete than they were. And he'd have been a "big" heavyweight in the days of 190 pound "heavyweight" champions like Marciano. At 6'3" tall, David Haye is the same size as Ali, Ken Norton, and Larry Holmes. And he's easily as good an athlete as any of them.

Haye would have dominated some eras and been right in the mix in whatever you consider to be the very best eras of heavyweight boxing.

Vitali really must be p4p the world's worst negotiator ever in this sport. David Haye is going to end up signing to fight Klitschko in London, England for 90% of the purse and 100% of the pay-per-view cash. He'll probaby get KO'd, but he'll be on his back grinning from ear to ear.
