PBF fans: Should PBF take a tune-up after serving time or go straight at PAC ?

Whether PBF serves the whole 90 or gets out sooner, do you think it makes a difference if he takes a tune-up bout against a lefty or, it makes no difference since Dumbquiao don't know what to do against a counter-puncher anyway.

    What do y'all think ?

Take a tune-up against a lefty(maybe against Ortiz again, if he beats Berto)

Well, since Pacquiao is fighting again sometime between April-June, which is funny because Bob Arum said April or May is too soon but now it's okay, Floyd and Manny wouldn't fight until November or December 2012.

Floyd will most likely get 30 days knocked off, so he'll probably be out the first week of March. He could fight in July and than again in November or December against Pacquiao. I think he sholuld fight either Sergio Martinez at 154-155 or the Berto-Ortiz II winner in July.

You know if Floyd takes a tuneup in 2012 dont expect seeing him fight for the rest of the year right?

Floyd only fights once a year and admitted to it.. So if he takes a tuneup dont expect to see Pac vs. Floyd in 2012.

You certain we're still not gonna get the same roadblocks? I don't think any of this effects the fight, a fight in which I don't believe was ever gonna happen in May or June.

no it will just make floyd pissed off and he is gonna take it out on sergio or pacquiao when he gets out he won't serve the full 90 unless he starts getting into fights in a county jail but that wont happen cuz he will be in his room by himself 90% of the time so no he will be fine

Most of the posters on this thread are die hard Floyd fans, did you all forget Floyds ONLY FIGHTS ONCE A YEAR and announced it after his retirement? Dont expect Floyd to fight 2x in 2012 if he takes a tune up.
            2009 Marquez
            2010 Mosley
            2011 Ortiz
            2012 ????

So, you want Floyd to come out in early March and sit around for about 8-9 months until he fights Pacquiao???

I already said if Bob Arum wants the Floyd fight, wait it out with Mayweather, and fight him in July. That's only 9 1/2-10 months since Floyd's last fight and 8 months since Manny's.

But what does Arum do??? He takes Floyd's name off the list and than back tracks on April-May being to early, and than presents fights with Marquez, Cotto, and Bradley to Pac and his team. It's so blatantly clear that Bob wants no part of this fight. Even Dan Rafael, a nororious Floyd hater, thinks Floyd's jail time just gave Arum a legit excuse to not pursure Mayweather. After he said "We are not going to pursure a Mayweather fight, in favor of a 4th Marquez fight" and after Top Rank informed Schaefer and Ellerbe about not wanting to make a Floyd fight, they saw the crazy backlash that landed on them, and than played the Pacquiao lovers again with the whole "The fight is about 80-90% done", "May is probably to early", "I want to build a 45,000 seat stadium on the strip, that's why May is too early", etc.

By the way, I think Floyd and Manny both want the fight, Bob....not so much. Also, Manny should fight Bradley this spring, not Cotto II or Marquez IV. Cotto is still the same exact guy he was back in 2009, past his prime-still good. And you know for a fact if they fight Cotto, it will be at a 150 CW for his 154 lb title or at 147 lbs. Marquez, he didn't even really deserve a 3rd Pacquiao fight in 2011, given Marquez is past his prime. But, if Pacquiao can't beat a past prime Marquez at 144 in November 2011, what's going to change next year??? Marquez will just be another 6-7 months older and maybe Pac beats him without controversy this time. But, who really wants to see Pacquiao-Marquez IV....not me, and not most boxing fans.

So, Timothy bradley should be the guy. He's fought at 147 once before, is unbeaten, in his prime, top 10 P4P. It should be him.

If Floyd is dead serious about fighting and staying active this time, than he will fight in July and December, 5 months apart, plenty of time in between. I know since the Hatton fight, Floyd has been off and on. He retired for 21 months after Hatton and fought Marquez, fought Mosley 9 months later, and than retired again for 16 months until he fought Ortiz.

If he's serious this time, he'll fight in July and than sometime in between November-February at least.

Even if Floyd gets out of jail in march, his not gonna fight in june or july. Do you really think that after being release in jail that he wants to go straight to training. His gonna rest/go on vacation. Most likely he will fight around september-december tim frame.

He should take a tune up against someone like Guerro or Berto.

Hahaha... First you gotta ask.. Do Floyd wanna fight twice this year? You couldnt get him to fight 2 times a year when his "active"....And another thing.. I thought Ortiz was a tune-up..You mean you want him to fight another tune-up fight again..
