    yes cayo and petrov. but he couldnt knock out either corley nor morales nor khan and that was after some clean punches. his power is good but its very overrated on this site. he does not have kostya tszyu like power. i mean he couldnt knock out corley. a shot to **** corley. cotto knocked out a much fresher version. like i said, ive seen some power punchers and nothing to me suggests maidana is as powerful of a puncher as ppl claim.

      Berto can't KO anyone good either.

      Ortiz, Urango, Collazzo Forbes...

        Because he can't fight inside.

        Andre fires and falls into a clinch...he has poor balance.

          umm, he ko'ed both freddy hernandez and carlos quintana, while not overly impressive, it is more impressive than petrov and cayo. not to mention not being able to ko a fighter like corley.

            all of those fighters are not at all easy to ko. chop chop, khan, morales tho? if maidana had the kinda power that ppl suggest he has, he should have been able to ko at least one of these guys.

                maidana may be considered better pure puncher but berto has that blinding handspeed, saying nothing about who is the overall better competitor in the ring

                maidana has power like a swinging hammer, its leverage and his shoulder configuration.

                he is an athlete fitted to his sport & style, notice the development around his neck and shoulders compared to his less massive chest. you see many people who have similar muscular development but they usually have a lack of development in the forearms and upper arms. Maidana has both the narrow but strong shoulder "girdle" but also highly developed arms. keep in mind size and muscular development is not the same thing, but in boxing with many weight classes muscular development is important from an athletic standpoint. it isn't like in football where you have big bones to begin with and then train to add functional mass. boxers have to "stay small" and focus on muscular development for the unique things the sport calls for. dempsey had the same kind of bone structure and in turn threw punches in a similar way. the styles are different, but the hooking motion and how they generate power is the same. they learn to let them go from the hip and the upper body follows like a door slamming shut. they are built more like "punching machines" and have power but can end up less balanced fighters. freddie steele was another guy like that.

                berto on the other hand is more balanced in the classical boxing sense. he shoots his punches in the classic technical fashion, there maybe times as a pro he does something different and he is durable and can ****. its not like he is just a good boxer without a chin or any kind of toughness. he is tough indeed, but he came from the amateur system and when he is on his game he is fast, mobile, always correct body position and shooting his punches in the scoring, "cracking" fashion. he can knock you out because he is strong anyway and when he throws a proper shot he turns it over shockingly fast. it requires no wind up or extreme follow through, the action is more like a snake uncoiling. when you get hit with punches like that someone with no experience will lose focus because they will get dazed by the speed.

                someone shoots a punch to your face right through your defense, which in your mind was already tight and then they are out before you can react. for a split second your muscles try to move and then you see how fast he is going out and for a split second you think "damnit" and then you have to set up again. or worse, he has "turned" you and has kept punching. it is a different kind of attack then someone trying to slug and maul you.

                  Berto looks like he hits harder but maidana is the harder hitter don't know why or how, some guys are just heavy handed and there punches hurt more even though they don't look like they have power because they aren't fast.

                  Doesn't make sense from physics pov because speed is power.

                  Force = mass x velocity

                    Got me wondering does Maidana hit harder then berto. Cause maidana swoled up Ortiz and berto didnt even bruise Ortiz.
                    tweet Vic that question....on here you're gonna get speculation.....so if you REALLY wanna know...hit the boy Vic up.....he might answer back and say Chino just to amp Berto up....good hype for the sequel they got coming up

                      Maidana is a pure puncher, clubbing brute force Power. He's got bricks for fists and his shots are the type that stay with a guy

                      Berto he's more like a Zab Judah, Blinding speed and Explosive power. Not a heavy handed guy who u can really tell is wearing his man down with his blows but capable of blasting an opponent over or really stunning them with a single shot

                      Over all Maidana is the better puncher
