imo if floyd beat pac that wouldn't even be his best win to date, i'd rate oscar higher still. that fight is all media hype, but in fact it would be a mismatch similar to the gatti fight. one can hardly see pac winning after his mediocre performances vs. marquez.
i think martinez would be a good legacy fight....but only at 154.

Overall at face value I give Pacquiao's resume a B+.

When I consider all the deck stacking Top Rank has been doing in his favor the last several years it falls down to a B. Slightly better than Mayweather's but not much of a significant advantage for Pac.

According to Dibella, he talked with Haymon and Ellerbe, and said that if Manny Pacquiao is totally 100% off the table for Floyd's next fight (most likely May-July), than Sergio at 154-155 would be largely considered by Floyd. It could happen. Dibella is close with Haymon, they have a solid working relationship.

Also, Pacquiao is completely 100% off the table, now that we've heard Arum and Pacquiao's camp say they've been presented with Marquez, Cotto, Bradley, and even Peterson as Manny's next fight (April-May), and that FLoys now off the list. Floyd is getting out in the first week of March most likely, what happened to Bob saying June or July would be fine??? You see, anyone with two eyes and ears that work normally could tell that Bob Arum never intended on making Mayweather-Pacquiao next, and Floyd's 1-2 month jail sentence is just a legit excuse now for them not to pursure it.

You forgot the fact that he's the only fighter in Boxing history to win 8 titles in as many divisions. And if you want to nitpick about CWs and all that, he has 4 lineal titles... also the only fighter in History to be be able to make that claim.

Didn't nitpick, I posted a fair thread. Manny Pacquiao is an ATG, so is Floyd Mayweather, but RIGHT NOW....they are both around top 30 or so.

I hope Manny chooses to fight Timothy Bradley next.

Meant the proverbial 'you', not you or your post specifically. And I hope he fights Bradley next, would kill a lot of b.s. birds with one stone 'Pac doesn't fight African-Americans' 'Pac won't fight any young, hungry fighters' 'When was the last time Pac fought someone coming off a win/who was undefeated', etc... and also Senor Rosales would be a ghost in these parts

Two of those belts were won at catchweights and one of them wasn't even against a fighter who competed at that weight. Overall Manny's resume is still better than most current active fighters but compared to other ATG's its just okay. Overall I'd give him a B.

Pacquiao's resume is about a B+ and Mayweather is probably around a B-.
