The result of Pacquiao-Marquez III was perceived as the “Robbery of the Year” to 43 percent of the 2, 270 fans who voted in this year’s ******.com readers’ choice year-end award poll. Other bad decisions of 2011 that received votes included
Paul Williams-Erislandy Lara (32.1 percent),
Robert Helenius-Dereck Chisora (9.,
Devon Alexander-Lucas Matthysse (8.9)
Felix Sturm-Matthew Macklin (6.3).
2,270 votes??? LMAO!!! Is this supposed to be significant?

Boxing has never been a consensus-based sport from the SPECTATORS but from the ring judges. I care less what people outside of the judging really.
What boxing can do is perhaps get 5 judges instead of 3 and make fights up to 15 to 20 rounds to see (relatively) "clearer" who is the better fighter...or until someone drops or quits like the old era of boxing.
Too many fights have gone through judging and the Marquez/Pacquiao fight is really too-close to really convince people who has won. Sure Judges make mistakes (that's a given, that's part of the game - the human factor) but they should work it out to minimize this.
STYLE POINTS vs. TECHNICAL POINTS is the classical issue here and this can go on and on without resolution. Thus I suggested the two points above to minimize or eliminate these.

There were many worse decisions throughout the year but this was on the biggest stage of all hence the votes
Chisora got shafted pretty bad in Finland and Jamie Cox won a total screw job here in the UK over some Ghanaian fighter both worse than the Marquez result
