    James Toney's old trainer?

    Was watching a re-run of RJJ v Toney the other day....who was Toney's trainer back then? Any1 know why Toney changed to roach and whether the old trainer trained any1 else also?

    He's had loads of trainers.. Bill Miller, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, he's had quite a few.

      thanx, any idea who they guy was in the roy jones fight? why he keep changing? cos trainers got fed up of his weight problems??

          That was Bill Miller in his corner with him. Bill worked with James after James had turned pro. Bill is the one to thank for James Toney using the shoulder roll as effectively as he does. James never really used it before in the amatuers.

          Bill has told me some very interesting stories about James and his training camp practices for the Jones fight. As Bill said, "He deserved to lose that fight....."

          Little known fact here.... The guy who started James Toney was a guy named Greg "The Leprechaun" Owens. Very nice man. He started me as well back in the day.
