How will Andre Ward react to having the ring cut off ,Body punching and COUNTERS?

Flint fighter Anthony Dirrell is the mandatory challenger for Andre Ward's super middleweight boxing title

Anthony Dirrell last beat Renan ST. Juste in a WBC eliminator bout earlier this month making, Flint boxer Anthony Dirrell (24-0, 21 KO’s) the mandatory challenger for Ward’s boxing crown. He stopped St-Juste in round four after he separated his left shoulder and failed to continue at the 2:54 mark. Although it seems like Dirrell will be Ward’s next opponent, the bout is not etched in stone. Many believe that Wards smartest choice would be to vacate the WBC title and side step Anthony Dirrell. Dirrell may still have to wait.

Ward (25-0, 13 KOs) hasn’t lost a fight since 1996 when he was 12-years-old.
He won the gold medal for the United States in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.Dirrell’s older brother, Andre, was Ward’s teammate on the USA’s boxing team. Andre took home a broze medal in the middleweight division in 2004 as well.

Andre Dirrell and Andre Ward are good friends and were slated to face each other in 2010 as a part of Showtime’s Super Six tournament. However, the fight would never happen as Andre Dirrell withdrew from the competition due to neurological problems. Anthony Dirrell has fought four fights in 2011 and has stopped his last nine targets.

After his win over St-Juste, Anthony Dirrell boldly declared that
“I’m coming, Super Six. You all better watch out. ’The Dog’ is coming,”

That is an excellent question. That is a style that I believe would give him problems. But the problem with that is, I don't see anyone in that division that could cosistently execute that fight plan against him. Ward his a very physical and strong minded fighter himself. He knows how to get rugged in there as he showed Greene, Kessler, and Froch. Plus he is an excellent solid boxer. I don't see anyone giving him problems until he moves up to lightheavy weight.

I agree that he is strong, but his inside game to me really sucks. His inside game worked on Greene, Kessler, and Froch because they are not good well rounded boxers. They all rely on thier power to save them. People who understand boxing will agree that those guys can not box and are very limted, thats the reason every fight thier in is a war. Ward has not had to dEAL WITH A TRUE BOXER! I believe even Andre dirrell could have defeated Ward had he not droped out. Anthony for sure will show Ward all of the above because he can move and he can stand in the pocket and force Ward to back up. I don't know if you have watched Anthony but he is a very good body puncher, and hes very accurate. He doesnt waist punchers either.

Shouldn't the question be "how will DIRRELL react to having the ring cut off?"

It's not like Ward has been dancing around and boxing from the outside lately. He's been in fighters faces. Why would he worry about someone cutting off the ring when he's applying pressure himself? seems silly

Because Anthony can box. Anthony has the better harder faster jab, harder faster sharper punches, better chin, the better style. That sloppy rough house tactics that has earned Ward a few victories will not work against Anthony. Ward will be forced to box, and Anthony will back him up, counter him, go to his body. Anthony fights like a seasoned pro, very relaxed, steady on point with accuracy. Ward runs around and rushes in like a wild amerture, charging in with his head and chin up in the air, also his guard and stance invites body punching. You will see, if Ward takes the fight. I believe he's gonna vacate the title, to avoid getting knocked out! If he vacates the belts this will make Anthony the champion by default. You have to ask yourself why would Andre Ward do this. Why not fight Anthony if he is so good. I mean he is the Super Six Champion!
