2011 is more of a dirty and controversial year for boxing.

Cotto-Margarito 2 had about everything you could want in a prizefight. Anger, hate, vengence, redemption, etc.

And a controversial ending to top it off. One of many when it comes to Cotto fights in MSG.

We could argue this into the wee hours of the morning. I don't see it as controversial and alot of non Cotto fans do too. I don't see anyway Margo was gonna KO him in the last three rounds. I didn't see the controversy that night, but I'm also admittedly biased.

It kills me when people say this was adown year for boxing. The story lines were great this year. I enjoyed it. The only downer was Floyd not touching Ortiz up for about 4 more rounds.

For me this year was disappointing in terms of many potentially great fights not living up to the hype. Bradley-Alexander, Haye-Klitchko, Pac-Mosley, Khan-Judah and Mayweather-Ortiz just to name a few. There were certainly some great fights, but overall I would say 2011 was full of disappointment.
