He may be modest and soft-spoken, but S.O.G. is one tough S.O.B.
Not only did he bust up Carl Froch last week at in Atlantic City to win the Super Six Wolrd Boxing Classic Final, Ward also busted up his left hand—a week before the fight.
“We did not know this going in,” tweeted Ward, “because the X-Ray came back negative. I just knew it hurt like nobodies business. We had to go with the fight.”
This morning Ward went to get an MRI.
According to WBA/WBC super middleweight champ, “The MRI showed multiple fractures in the third & fifth metacarpal on my left hand. This happened a week before the fight.
“I knew I would further hurt my hand in the fight & I did in the 6th rd. I bit down & continued to work, I had no choice. We got through it!”
If Ward did what he did to Froch with one goof hand, what would the fight have been like if he had two good hands?
“The Doc put a hard cast on 2day, the cast will remain for 2 weeks, then rehab & I should be fine.”
