    P4P Status....

Will Floyd Mayweather be the first boxer to be rated by most as #1 P4P while being in jail?

Has any other fighter been #1 and in jail?

    Top 3?

He was the fist one I thought of but I'm not sure he was still Champ when he went to jail. I was young and didn't follow his outside the ring experiences...

His sentence is relatively short, so it shouldn't be a question of it affecting his ranking. But maybe if one is asking if it seems unseemly to be ranked the world's best boxer and be in jail for domestic violence, and I say yes to that. I think he should be temporarily removed from the rankings--even though he claims not to care about them--until he's done his bid.

Boxing is an honorable sport that should be kept separate from the very flawed man.

He is not #1 P4P best fighter to begin with. The man who just recently bought a yacht in the Philippines is..lol..

Its nice to see pac buying boat like Floyd did. However depending on the source Floyd IS P4P #1. Like the World Wide Leader of Sports, ESPN for example. fyi, Floyd is also the #1 WW.....

Now, the question was, has there ever been any other fighter that is currently #1 P4P and in jail?

This is along the lines of Tarver staring as a Boxing Champ in a movie (Rocky) while currently being Champ. Or Pac being in congress while being a top WW, I can't say #1 because he has never been a #1 WW but again, depending on the source you can say P4P #1 (Ring).

That was not the intent of the question. His rank won't be effected for being out of the ring for the 3 months that he is in a correctional institute.

Its not like he was scheduled to fight while he will be in jail. If anything we will have to wait a month or two longer which is still sooner than his recent time out of the ring.
