I remember that fight was brought up awhile ago. Now i gotta say if Tarver want's to prove that he's a real champ who didn't make his name off of just one fighter(I'm not gonna say RJJ was shot but it's just one name), then he should stay away from Tyson and give people the shot who deserve it. Sorry to disrespect tyson or his fans but he left his heart in the ring along time ago. I wouldn't be suprised if this fight came along, cause fighters love to say they beat Tyson(no matter how little of an accomplishment that is nowadays), and tyson is always on the look for more money to lose, but it wont get Tarver anymore real Boxing fans. Even a win against Hopkins wont do much, and Tarver has alot more to lose, no one remembers a top fighter's last few fights once they're close to or in this case past 40, they remember him at his prime, but they will remember if somhow Tarver fails to win or beat Hokins convincingly, he needs to fight top contenders even if they're not big names.

It's not about hitting hard(& trust me i'm not a big fan of Tarver) it's about not backing down and following a gameplan to beat Tyson. Once Tyson sees that what he's doing ain't working thats it, he's out, even he knows his heart aint in it anymore. Remember the times when Tyson could knock out a guy like Mcbride a few second into the first round? that fighter doesnt exsist. The Myth is dead. It's better to burnout then to fade away, looks like Tyson is going for both. He's been burnt since he faught Lenox, but as long as the man needs money he'll keep coming back. He wont be in it to win, just to get that payday.

It would be cool to see Tyson fight someone his own size and see what he's got left.His last few fights other than Williams were against super heavyweights like Lewis and that Irish dude those were bad matchups for Mike.I'd rather he stayed retired but you know if he teamed up with some of his old stable like Rooney or Atlas it would sell.

as big a fan i am of Tyson, i think we should let him be as is. I still honestly feel that if Mike's heart was in it he could stir up the division a little, and Tarver would have a hard time standing if a healthy in shape Tyson hit him with anything...But I'm not sure Mike's heart will ever be in it again. But id still love to see him go out with one more win!
