It's about time. Robert Garcia is actually a very good fit for Pavlik.

But Kelly has to get his addictions outside the ring under control, otherwise no trainer can help him.

Robert Garcia is actually way opposite of a trainer that Pavlik needs. Look at Rios and Margarito. He will just get puonded to a bloody pulp. He needs a trainer thats more of a technical trainer that will get him back to counter punching and lateral movement.

I was never a huge pavlik fan but it saddens me if addiction to alcohol is hurting his progress. i hope he finds the strength mentally to overcome it. it proves we all have adversities. mayweather doesnt drink yet look where he is, everyone goes through it. pavlik fights were action packed, i hope to see him back soon.

Garcia tailors his approach to each fighter specifically. Rios and Margarito are natural brawlers so that is what he works with.

But look at Nonito Donaire or Mikey Garcia....they are both more technical in the ring while still being action fighters. If Robert can do with Pavlik what he does with them then this partnership will be a success.

Nothing positive can happen, however, unless Pavlik handles his business with his addictions.

Pavlik needs the change. Jack should understand.

I have to agree Garcia is popular right now probably because he works cheap. He is overrated. First, he does not seem to care about the health of his fighters, letting Margarito almost get blinded in the Paqman fight and knowing he had a previous serious injury he wanted to let Margo keep fighting after his eye swelled shut in the Cotto fight. 2nd, I have not seen him add anything new to any of his fighters. 3rd, he is unprofessional and when a fighter leaves him for another trainer he is unable to accept it as part of the business. He will even throw his own brother away just because Ortiz chose to go with him.

Steward would be great for Pavlik. He would teach him how to use his height, jab, and distance properly. If Pavlik did this he would become a serious threat again.
