Four-division world champion Erik "El Terrible" Morales has confirmed the recent reports in Mexico, which stated the fighter was undergoing surgery on Wednesday morning for a gallbladder issue. Morales was taken to the hospital after feeling pain and discomfort. The boxer is hoping for a speedy recover and he's focosed on moving forward with a planned defense of his WBC junior welterweight title on January 28th against undefeated Danny Garcia at Reliant Arena in Houston, Texas.

It's very unlikely that this fight is going to happen, at least not at the end of January. These type of surgeries are done with laparoscopy which is not so invasive, however even though it only takes about 1 week to recover enough to return to a "normal" life, it still takes more than a month to be able to do exercise again, so I don't see how Morales is going to fight in the next month.

That would be an insane Doubleheader. Ramos or Rigondeaux are not Golden Boy fighters I think so I doubt that would work out.
