So.....May is a bad date because Bob Arum wants to build a brand new 40,000+ stadium in Vegas.....and some of you Pac lovers still think Bob Arum is doing everything to make the fight???
The fact is, there's absolutely nothing wrong with May 5, 2012, and Manny and Floyd not being Mexican or Hispanic means NOTHING. They could have 3-4 big Latino undercards, and the fight would probably sell like 2.5-3.0 Million PPV's, and would probably be the largest gate ever in Vegas.
The fact that Arum is trying to use "Floyd's jail time" (which will most likely only be a week or two at the most, lets get real) and his idea for a new 40,000 seat stadium as the reason that May is a bad time to do it, just goes to show that Arum is throwing up more smoke creen bulls**t to not make the fight happen. They can't use the Blood testing thing as an issue anymore, because reportedly, Manny agreed after 2 years finally. So, what issues are they bringing up now???
1. "Floyd wants $100 Million."
2. "Floyd may be in jail for too long to have the fight in May."
3. "We want to build a new 40,000 seat stadium to have the fight in June."
4. "Manny and Floyd aren't Hispanic, why on Cinco De Mayo?"
It's never ending. Just sit down with Haymon, Ellerbe, and Schaefer, and make the fight Bob. Floyd isn't going to spend anymore than a week or two at the most in jail, and it's 5 months before the fight would happen in May. I'd bet Floyd spends a day or two in jail, I doubt he'd take the plea deal if he thought there was any significant chance that he'd spend more than a week or two max in jail.
It's just more bulls**t excuses to not really pursure the fight, so that when they say "We offered Floyd this deal, he refused", it will make it look like Floyd backed out. I want this fight to happen in May, as does EVERYONE, but Arum doesn't. Even Ariza and Team Pac say they question if Bob wants the fight.
I want it to happen, lets hope it does, but don't be surprised if we get Pacquiao-Cotto II.
