Comments Thread For: Proksa Has No Problem With Facing Zbik in Germany

EBU middleweight champion Grzegorz Proksa (26-0, 19 KOs) has no problem facing mandatory challenger Sebastian Zbik (30-1, 10 KOs) in Germany. A few months ago Proksa traveled to Neubrandenburg to capture the vacant EBU belt with a one-sided beating of former IBF champion Sebastian Sylvester.

this guy is next big thing in middleweight division. When Proksa get the chance and for the good of boxing, he will destroy Sturm. He´s already in my p4p list!

Proksa is undersized and physically weak in the middleweight division. Watch some more fights of him. he usually doesn't look that good when facing an opponent that tries to punish him too, unlike Sylvester did. Hes a good guy with a great attitude and i think everyone should be a fan or appreciate him but do not hype him so much as far as his working capacity is concered because he can't back it up. Zbiks an excellent textbook boxer, the more complete fighter, bigger and stronger. he'll give Proksa everything he can handle. I'll be surpised if Proksa beats him in Germany.

Maybe i´m a little too excited and i should watch more fights of Proksa but i don´t think Geale, Sturm, Chavez Jr., or Zbik can punish anybody since they are all weak punchers for the division. Martinez, Pirog and Golovkin are the stronger opposition for Proksa. Zbick will be a great test for him. Let´s wait and see.

money is not everything. it is not important because zbik is an attractive contender.
this is something you got to respect. he knows that working his way up will get him to be that no.1 contender eventually. i like pirog, but even though he has a belt, he should try and do this. fighting names will get you further then just saying you're a titleholder. i hope both have a big year in 2012, i would love to see either guy fight martinez. or even better imo, fight each other to prove who's the best european MW around, even though there's guys like golovkin and n'jikam.

If Proksa can pass this test against Zbik who is a pretty good fighter it'll speak volumes as to where he is and weather he can compete with that next level of MWs.

He looked fantastic against Sylvester but that was the only time I had seen him fight and sometimes fighters do look good once on a big stage then every other time they just look ok.

With the Sylvester and Zibik wins, Proksa would have the best resume in the middleweight division. It's too bad he can't get a belt with that.

really? He only has Brian Vera and Craig McEwan. None of those guys were ever really top 10 guys. Maybe he'll have a case if he beats Martin Murray.
