    The best of Gatti...

was watching Gatti-Patterson 1 on ESPN Classic again tonight...people will always remember him as a thrill a minute guy, take a punch to give a punch guy etc...but everyone should REALLY watch that fight sometime...Arturo put on a VERY SHARP DISPLAY OF BOXING against a good fighter in his own right in Tracy...

COME ON BOYS...NO ONE AGREES?? Gatti used his jab overtime, mixed his punches well, fought a very smart strategic fight...etc..and Tracy was right there the whole way but the volume and the jab kept him at bay...Arturo deserves to be remembered for this fight as well...

Gatti had some decent boxing skills, and I'd agree that the first Patterson fight was probably his best win. Gatti could punch, had reasonably fast hands, and a good pair of legs.

People talk about him being some sort of overachiever who got by on his toughness and resilience, but he was known to screw around too much during camps and party it up when he should've been training. He was more athletic and fluid that many would think he was.

Yeah Gatti gets a bad rep from young *****s and *******s who probably seen him fight floyd and ward.

The man did have some solid assets in his skill set but he just had a bad habit of always wanting to slug. This was a damn good fight too one of my favorite gatti fights. Gatti got it in.

I always bring this fight up when people claim Gatti was a crude brawler.

Also add i think alot of people get the wrong idea since Alfonzo Gómez outboxed him but too bad that was when Gatti had nothing left. He actually had quite a few displays of the sweet science.

also, the third fight with Mickey was probably the least exciting but it was also the most decisive victory of the three...because Arturo BOXED...

funny, I was watching this fight about a week ago

who is it again that said ''Gatti was a fighter who could box''

                  I think it's spot on

too much heart and too much power, that's probably why he ended up brawling in many of his fights when he could have made things easier boxing

Do you mean the 2nd fight?

I thought the 2nd fight was the least entertaining, and the most one-sided. Ward at least scored a KD in the 3rd fight, and won another round when Gatti hurt his hand.

Whereas Gatti scored the KD in the 2nd fight (badly hurting Ward), and probably won every round, or 9 out of the 10.
