shamba mitchell , was never that good

the first time i saw shamba mitchell fight was vs steve johnston. all the anouncer kept saying was how great shamba was and how this was a tuneup fihgt for him . while steve johnston beat him to a pulp .

every shamba fight has been a repeat of that one and floyd mayweather will be him to a pulp too.

Hardly... He only had 4 fights at lightweight... One of which 90% of people believe he lost, and two of the fights were against nobodies.

Roberto Duran, Julio Cesar Chavez, and Pernell Whitaker... have achieved far more at that weight.

You're missing a few selections on your poll there, buddy.

We're forced to say he's the best "ever", or say he's not a "scrapper".

its funny cause alot of peeps where saying how great he was,
how well hed done since losing to tsyzu 1st time out.
that hatton would have alot of trouble fighting him.

since he was destroyed by tsyzu and hatton beat tsyzu, all
ive heard (read) is that hes an over the hill fighter who cant
really compete at the top level. how things change

as much as I love Floyd, you don't make argument of being the best ever at a weight class just because you were undefeated in a couple of fights there...sure he beat "the man"...but he never dominated the division over time...there lightweight division is probably the deepest in boxing right now...if he completely dominated it today, then maybe...but he didn't and now he will be two classes North

The Mitchell vs Tszyu fight flattered Kostya Tszyu...

I shouldn't say that because it takes something away from Hatton's victory over Tszyu... But it's true.

Mitchell has looked like a fighter on the slide ever since he got that home town decision in Atlantic city against Lovemore Ndou in Feb 2004'...

Mitchell fought on a Hatton undercard after that agaisnt Stewert and din't look very good... (For Tszyu... Mitchell was there for the taking).
