According to sources, the WBA junior middleweight champion of the world, Miguel Cotto, will be honored as the 2011 'Fighter of the Year' at the annual awards that are distributed by the Boxing Commission of Puerto Rico. The awards are reportedly taking place on February 16th. Cotto, 31, with a record of 37-2 and 30 knockouts, is coming off a tenth round technical knockout of Antonio Margarito, which took place on December 3rd. In 2008, Margarito gave the Puerto Rican star his first pro defeat. And on May 3rd, Cotto stopped Nicaraguan Ricardo 'El Matador' Mayorga in the twelfth round.
