According to witnesses, Floyd became increasingly agitated when he found out the case was about to get dismissed because there was not enough evidence against him.

He turned to his lawyer and said, "Do something. I'm not paying you to keep me out of jail. Listen, the PED excuse is old. I need a new excuse dammit! Get me at least in jail, and I'll find a way to extend my stay as long as possible."
