Nope. You can call it...science. And if not that, then call it probability.

If you've been getting hit with counter punches 1st fight against Marquez, the second fight with Marquez, AND the 3rd fight with Marquez...chances are, you're going get hit with counter punches against the best counter puncher, the most accurate puncher and not only that but one of the best defensive fighters (since counter punching has a lot to do with defense).

I mean, let's be real here. Let's not pretend that although Marquez and Mayweather are two different fighters, it wasn't the simple fact that Pac was fighting a guy named Marquez that was giving him a hard time. The same counter punches used by the 39 year old Marquez can be used by the 34 year old Mayweather. The reason why I typed the age is because counter punching is all about reaction timing and age does affect reflexes. Not only that, but Mayweather's speed is also greater than Marquez's speed.

And just in case people want to talk about that whole Mayweather being weak against southpaws. Sure buddy. It's more like Pacquiao's greatest weakness is the straight right.

The comparison was not for Pacman, Floyd & Marquez fighting each other.

It was the comparison between Floyd & Marquez as counterpunchers with the fact that Floyd is far superior.

Doesn't interest me. Barker made a mess of Sergio with only a tight guard, jab, and a straight right hand. Sergio is overhyped. He reminds me of tim tebow. He does things that are unusual for white fighters (though still not as good as black fighters) and is put on a pedestal for it. Floyd would easily dispatch Sergio.

IMO all the hype around Floyd-Pacman has died sinse tiny Marquez strolled up to welterweight & turned him, countered him & basically boxed him silly in the middle of the ring. He did it as the smaller, weaker & slower man. Tells me all I need to know.

Floyd on the other hand is the dominant presence at welterweight. Some said Khan would be the man to beat him,but that hype got shattered when Khan was proven severely lacking of any inside game vs Peterson.

Floyd is capable of fighting at 154 against solid fighters with no need for stipulation. Martinez is the only fighter capable of making that weight that has the tools to defeat mayweather, do it for legacy & let the two real elite fighters duke it out!!
