You dont see guys like Ron Borges and Tom Hauser woulds waist time to even defend their piece.
Naturally he's a “moron,” he allows Floyd to speak his side of things while the illiterate Pacquiao fanatics react by launching racial slurs. I might be a bit defensive too if I got alot of emails from fools that clearly know nothing about the sport, how to read, or how to tactfully compose an argument. I've heard other writers and reporters talk about the Pacquiao fanatic's vitriol if their idol isn't covered in a story that is a puff piece lavishing him with undeserved praise.

"One of Floyd's posse?" Wow, you guy’s simply prefer Floyd to not have a point of view at all or a place where he can speak it.

lol.. Give me one respected and real journalist who actually had to create his own question and answer section because they were too defensive about the validity of their "sources"... You make it sound that BT is the only writer out there who actually had hate mails..lol..

And yes he is Floyd's voice, so why is he speaking in Pac's behalf ..as if he actually talked to him or anyone of his associates that actually knows what's going on with his finances...Oh and Visionquest had nothing to with Floyd so what is his source..google...lol

I love how you "fans" talk major head on "Boxingscene" but have little real interest in engaging the source or of critically thinking about the material presented. Instead, folks hide out here and launch attack, after attack. I'm not a Ben Thompson apologist but I am an African American and I know that I might be a little ticked off at the ******ity of the Pacquiao fanatic if it was constant and clogged up my forum. I've read through the archives of that site and some of the questions are, well, illiterate a fairly common trait amongst the Pacquiao obsessed.

I think there's a difference between being "Floyd's voice" as you put it and being one of the few people that Floyd talks to. Imho that's not really the point anyway, I think the point is Floyd's opinion is not desired and anyone associated with him is vulnerable to the unreasoning smear machine of the Pacquiao obsessed.

No, I'm not trying to say that Ben Thompson is the only person to ever receive hate mail, that's dumb; I'd wager that anyone in the public eye receives hate mail in one form or another, even the anointed Pacquiao himself. My point was that the specific kind of hate that's being directed at BT is being done because he dares to let Mayweather speak his peace, again, it's as if some "fans" don't want to hear from Floyd at all and covey as much with the virulent hatred that's unleashed on this forum and several others.

Manny Pacquiao: Fanatical Pacquiao Supporters Wage Wikipedia War :

A Wikipedia reboot happened to Manny Pacquiao's entry recently. The ordeal is summed up nicely in a ProBoxing-Fans.com article written by Rich Thomas.

Thomas asserts that a few Pacquiao fanatics were tired of the couple of blemishes on PacMan's record, so they changed it.

Thomas explains what went down in the virtual world here :

" At issue are the online encyclopedia's material covering Pacquiao's loss to Erik Morales and his two bouts with Juan Manuel Marquez, with the Pacfans trying to rewrite the entry in a fashion more favorable to their icon. On the other side are veteran Wikipedia contributors, who claim they are taking a fair and balanced stand on fact. "

He then goes on to quote various players in the dust-up. Pacfan1037 wrote the following on Pacquiao's losses.

" Wikipedia is a racist tool, created by racist Americans to persecute the greatest boxer who ever lived" wrote Pacfan1037.

Erik Morales drugged Manny Pacquiao to win their first fight, and Juan Manuel Marquez bribed judges. This is the truth, and Wikipedia must say that. We won't stop until Wikipedia reports the truth. "

Just to show the craziness of *******s...

3 paragraphs of rubbish.. not one of it actually related to my post..lol..

He is getting all types of hate mails because he is spewing lies about Pac as if he is his representative and passing it up as facts as if he actually did some real research..

Had he only written about Pac in terms of Floyd's point of view/opinion and open about it in the first place, he wouldnt get that type of BS replies... lol.. And then you *****s using it as some sort of a bible to attack Pac and most pathetically his finances is even more laughable..

Sorry bro, I gotta file your post under complete nonsense. One thing I'm learning as I post more on this site, there are those that seek after knowledge, benevolently, thoughtfully and then there are those that seek nothing more than to pollute this site with garbage. Anyone that uses the term, "*****" isn't a very astute or mature person, but hey, a person can do alot when they post anonymously under a screen name eh?
