You gotta point but they are two different type of fighters. It's really not worth mentioning since he made Froch look way out of his league. Whether he was slower or not, he still destroyed Froch.

IMO, speed only needs to be fast enough to get the timing right. And, his timing was immaculate, so I didn't see any for him reason to move faster and waste energy. I do know what you're saying though and I was concerned about it in the first round, until I saw that Ward was making it work.

Kessler is more of a textbook, robotic fighter so Ward used his speed to overwhelm him and not let him gain any momentum. Froch is an awkward fighter who throws punches from weird angles so Ward decided to sit down on his jab, use it more like a power shot to stop Froch in his track.

Terms of offense, Froch was more of an awkward fighter and Ward needed to set up his shots more.

Defense, no way....he was fast and slick. Hell, he at times looked just as fast as dirrell did. Actually Ward i think is faster with his upper body movement, while Dirrell with his footwork and handspeed.

He looked pretty quick to me, until he started slowing after round 8.

BTW he didn't destroy Froch, but he did dominate him, if anything Froch looked the fresher of the 2 after the final bell.
