ward is boring
Somepeople saying Ward is light puncher, got no pop

Ward is light fisted. Thing is, he places his punches well. Froch was either walking into them or getting hit by surprise thus making it look like he was momentarily hurt. They probably did stun him a bit, but nothing too serious. If Ward had any kind of power, Froch would have been dropped if not KO'd last night.Comment

You wouldn't have thought that judging from Froch's face after the fight. He had a little swelling under his right eye and redness around his nose. I'm sure Ward could deliver a cracking power shot but he seems unwilling to sit down on his punches...Comment

One of the points of this thread is, if you're gonna call Ward a light puncher and use the examples I have been reading, then call Froch a light puncher too. Another point is, Ward isn't the light puncher people think he is, or else Froch would have walked right through them.
Malignaggi is pretty quick handed himself and he was catching Khan flush, but Khan as chinny as he is, was walking right through the punches. Sure he had a bruised face for his machismo, but he did walk through them.
Froch with his supposed granite chin, was getting backed off and seemed bothered by the light punches snapping his head back.Comment

Ward is a medium damage power puncher. Not enough power to Ko a man with one shot but enough to keep you honest or a bit below that. End ThreadComment

Froch hurt Ward in the tenth, I think it was, and had him on the backfoot in the eleventh and twelth in a way that suggested that his power was getting to him. Anyone that calls Froch a one punch knockout guy is clearly overrating him, but he has naturally heavy hands and always seems to trouble guys if he lands consistently. Ward isn't a feather puncher, he's got sharp accurate hands and enough power to respect you, but if you're trying to say that their power is equal or even that Ward is a harder puncher then you're just wrong. Froch's relative lack of effect on Ward was due to him never really landing cleanly, whilst Ward landed cleanly time and again. The only one getting stunned and getting backed up in last night's fight was Carl Froch. Froch even had a cheap shot sucker punch on the break and Ward didn't even flinch.
Neither of the two have scored a knock down, let alone a knock out in the Super 6. Nobody in the Super 6 has been fazed by Froch's tremendously overrated power. He has this overly exaggerated overrated "granite" chin, when he was stunned by Johnson, Dirrell, and knocked down and hurt by Taylor, but the few clean punches landed on Ward, did nothing to him in the Super 6.
Not once in last night's fight did I see a Froch right hand that landed cleanly, stun or even catch Ward's attention. While Ward's jabs and left hooks had Froch thinking twice about trading with Ward.
Ward being put on a high standard cause he is one of the best young American stars. He has to KO his opponents, but it's okay for his opponents to go on and fight without stopping or hurting anyone.Comment
