I think Ward needs Bute more than Bute needs him. You just need to look at the numbers he does in Quebec for proof. I think it would be a close fight, not sure I'd say Ward was even favourite if it happened.

If we apply your logic, Jonhson was a better choice than Taylor 1-2 in his last 2 fights before S6
I don't think Taylor should've been included in the tourny to begin with.

Bute didn't want to pay Pavlik the money he wanted. Bute basically priced himself out.

        Pavlik was offered 1,300,000$
More than any othre adversary of Bute (Jonhson was offered 600 000$) and more than Ward's make at the S6 (900,000$ Source : Ring Magazine )

        Bute hasn't priced him out.
A MW guy, coming out from rehab, whitout a title, isn't even worth 1,300,000$). Pavlik probably used the mone as an excuse...
I agree. Pavlik priced himself out clear as day. What did he even bring to the table?

ward is garbage in terms of name recognition...oh he'll bring his wife to the fight, family, and friends, but because of that sleep inducing style, he'll always be in need of opposition that puts asses in the seats...hope he doesn't think he should be getting lion's share of future purses because he's the super six winner...remember when hopkins thought he was the cash cow after he won the middleweight tournament? what a laugh that was...

i'd rather see roy jones get brutally ko'd before i'd watch ward clinch and headbutt his way to victory...son of bernard all the way...if he doesn't fight bute on bute's turf, he'll be back in oakland fighting to a capacity crowd of 1000 ppl at best (that # includes his hometown refs and judges)

Ward refusing to fight Bute is strange, espacially when he's the best opposition for him. I hope he's not another scary boxer, there is to many boxers refusing tough fights.

Froch is a true warrior just like Johnson is and he's willing to fight Bute.

Personally, i think Bute will do much better against Froch then Ward did.

I get where Ward is coming from and it is the same stick that a lot of yall give PBF but giving Bute the ok on. Ward is just saying that he just fought most of the top people at 168 while Bute was fighting the lesser fighters. I agree that it would be very hard on Ward to turn right around and fight Bute next. It makes sense for Ward to get a light fight or 2 then go on to fight Bute. Alot of yall say PBF retired to let Mosley, Cotto, Margarito and Manny beat on each other then come out of retirement to fight the winner after they have been in wars while he was on the sidelines. Well IMO that is all Ward is saying and it makes sense. Bute right now is the fresher fighter.

I do agree Ward vs Bute needs to happen but Ward should get 1 to 2 light fights then fight Bute.

I think Bute should fight some of the Super 6 Contestants

Fight one of the Dirrell Brothers! Or Fight Froch or Kessler!

Ward is 100% Right...that dude haven't fought ANYBODY besides Glen Johnson recently, his is LIVING OFF OF HYPE AND HOPE right now...

Ward just cleaned out his Division in dominating fashion and is being talked about at a Top 3-5 P4P Fighter, while Bute gets NO RESPECT from any of the fellow Top Fighters in his Division

Bute got a Lottery Ticket to the Top of the Division, while the Rest was fight each other, he was on the sideline FIGHTING BUMS...what makes him worthy of a INSTANT SHOT at the Super 6 Winner?

Why is Bute getting a pass from some fans for CHERRY PICKING?

Bute is literally 10x the athlete as froch is.

Bute's style is all wrong for ward

Ward would batter him inside...But is a better athlete but he is not as tough a Froch nor does he have the chin or Power as Froch

Ward would have a much easier time with Bute then he did with Froch IMO! Just PHYSICALLY too strong for Bute and would push him around EASILY!
