Being a Pacquiao fan and a Filipino, my heart obviously goes for Pacman to win.

However, as a boxing fan, I have to say that I can not say for sure that Pacquiao ~will~ win. Nor can I say Morales will win either. At this time in their career, it is hard to say. Pac has had a lot of tough fights and Morales, damn...the man does not pick fights with unknowns. And he's been fighting top contenders since the late 90's. It's possible he could be on the downslide of his career. He fought Raheem with no fire until the late rounds and even then, he was not his usual self.

So, this fight is hard to call. I try not to get biased and right now, I will say these few facts:

    1. Both fighters have their career at stake. Particularly Morales. Pac still can use his Barrera win as a trump card for a rematch with Barrera. Morales, he's beaten them all, who else is there left to fight after Pacman?

    2. Morales wants redemption.

    3. Pacman wants to prove his critics wrong.

    4. Gloves: softer up front for Winning Gloves, less padding up front for Reyes gloves - yet both weigh the same.

    An exagerated example is this:

Think of a pillow on your belly. If I were to punch you there, I would have to throw a lot of weight behind the punch to make some affect. That is like the padding on Winning Gloves. If I were to just throw a hard quick punch, would it hurt you as much? Probably not. That's teh Reyes gloves. Keep in mind, Morales can KO people just as quickly as Pac can with Reyes gloves. A big factor but he's going with Winning.

    5. Weight and height. This advantage is clearly for Morales. Pac will have to fight harder to win this fight. Remember the old boxing adage : a good big man can beat a good little man. And Morales is good so Pacman will have to be better to beat Morales.

My unbiased opinion - Morales by UD (but not 100% garrantee).

My biased opinion - Pac is faster and will wear his favorite glove whilst Morales will stay with Winning gloves. Morales could lose the fight from the swelling he'll take from Pac's flurry. He can try to dodge most of them but some will get through and at an average of 60 punches per round, Pac will find his mark.

    ***********

And there is no Mexico vs Philippines. It's more like Mexico vs Pacquiao. Who else from the Philippines has the same prominence as "Pacquiao"? Boom Boom Bautista is an up and comer but hardly anyone in Mexico knows who he is.

It's funny how some Morales fan thinks he dominated Pac. It was a damn close fight, yea Morales won by a close margin. Pac was weaker because of the blood he was losing during the fight. Pac lost a lot of blood in that fight, he also didn't have his puncher gloves. No excuses, it's the fact!

Pac will KTFO Morales in Jan 21st. It will be a 10th round KO win by Pac. Morales will be in serious trouble in Jan. Can't wait for this fight. After this fight Pac should be considered top 3 P4P list.

I saw nothing in the first fight to suggest Pac can KO Morales. I greatly respect Manny's power and speed (really) but he was connecting with that left hand flush before the blood loss and Morales was not looking like he was going to loss his legs. In fact, Morales ate left hands in every round, as he was expected to do, but he remained clear headed and stayed with his plan to box. He gave Manny the chance to take-him-out in the 12th, by switching up, because he was not feeling too impressed by Pac's power.

Recall, Manny was gonna' bring "Manilla Ice" and was very condident that Morales was gonna' fall victim. What can Manny possibly bring to the fight this time, that is different than the first? He can't improve his speed, that's for damned sure. So, we're left with two guys with puncher's mitts, and Morales once again hitting Pac more than Pac hits him!

PS : Suggesting that Pac's blood loss was significant enough to weaken him is purely an excuse. Sure, there's vision issues with the blood, but his corner was skilled enough to at least make sure it wasn't a gusher.

I'd like to see Manny commit to a body attack. He definitely hurt Morales to the body, but didn't stick to it.
If he doesn't this time, you'll see Erik again outpoint him over 12.

He almost knocked Morales out at the end of the fight with being weak & not having his puncher glove.

No excuses! Ask any doctor, they will agree when a person lose the amount of blood that Pac did in the first fight, will be weaken & his punches will not have the same effect. This is the fact!
That's why I picked Pac by a late KO, I didn't say Pac will KO Morales in the first 1st round.

Morales has been "almost knocked out" before. It's the way he operates, we've seen him do it many times before.

Manny did not lose a ****load of blood. Sure it flowed steady, but it was simply not a gusher, by any means. His corner did a good job closing it up, but Morales did a good job opening it each round. If Manny had trouble making weight, or was sick, then maybe that amount of blood loss would have affected him, but he was in fighting shape and it really didn't weaken him. When you say "that much blood", I don't know what fight you watched.

You mention the last round like you expect (maybe you hope) Morales will give Manny another freebie? Morales was arrogant and ****** to fight the 12th round the way he did, especially against a ****er like Pac. That 12th round will not represent the way the Fight #2 will go, so it is not sensible to keep referring to it. Morales will be harder to hit in #2, because he is smart and has the skills to make that happen; whereas, Manny will be predictabe agressive and defenseless, as usual.

I'll pick the more skilled, adjustable counterpuncher anytime over the more agressive, speedy guy that has no defense.

Let's don't overrate Morales skills, if he was so skillful he would've not got beat, the way he did to Raheem. I don't see Morales has a skillful fighter. Lol, I guess you were listing to the great HBO guys.
