Comments Thread For: Froch-Ward: Delay, Neutral Site Affects The Crowd Size

NEW YORK — The Andre Ward-Carl Froch fight would’ve drawn crowds twice the size of the one expected Saturday night if it took place in Ward’s adopted hometown of Oakland, Calif., or somewhere in England.

Its a shame that the crowd size isn't what it could of been, but I think its unfair to call this a failure. There are some geniune P4P fighters in this thing. Do you think the drama queens and money makers at the lower weights would be down for something as risky as this tournament? It'll be rare to ever see anything on this scale in boxing again and in the end you can honestly say the best are fighting the best.

Or hold it at the City Ground and pull in over 20,000?

Who cares when those Eurostiffs fight in Germany they draw 100k and they have fireworks and music but might as well be a Wet T-Shirt Contest nobody cares.

At least this fight means something.

Wards had all his fights at home, trouble is he does not have the balls to fight in UK.

Could have filled Nottinghams City Ground or the Excel in London.

Ward is not prepared to fight outside the USA.
