In the eyes of the hardcore fans yes, Chavez technically should fight Martinez, but If I was to put myself in Jr's shoes, I would vacate. Like they say, boxing is also about business. That belt was virtually handed to Chavez on a silver platter and he can hand it right back, I don't recall Chavez even asking for a title shot at the time. Whats Chavez going to make fighting Sergio right now? 2 million maybe? Why go through a grueling fight with Sergio for 2mil when he can go and get 5-6 million for Cotto or Canelo?
